Bragging a Bit
You might remember I did an interesting trip up to the Great Bear Rainforest last year. It was the second time I had sailed aboard Passing Cloud, the first being the previous year to HaidaGwaii. One of the publications, BoomerMagazine just published the short piece I did, plus used one of the images on the cover! As you can imagine, I am thrilled!
Now I am waiting for the next one in Cruising World to be published.
With all this crazy weather we’ve had in the last month, I have actually accomplished a lot of studying - the clickfunnels I was working on has morphed into exploring a new ecommerce software to possibly replace the shopify underwear store. It’s really gratifying to recognize how much I have learned after sometimes feeling like I am floundering, learning new terminology etc. But I realize that I have made huge progress as I go through the process with GrooveKart, the new software. I understand what they are talking about and how things should go together and I am progressing through all the tutorials in order to really understand what it can - and more importantly - cannot do!
I also put my dog walking on hold during the lousy weather, but this morning grabbed an hour-long walk in the now-gorgeous weather. I had the sweetest little Basenji-mix and I walked her to the dog park where she had a marvelous time, romping with the other dogs and chasing her frisbee. It was really worth it, just to see how happy the dogs are when they are free. No arguments, not upsets, just a lot of chasing, sniffing and tail wagging.
Last night, Georgia and I and her cousin Linda and husband Jim went down to an art opening at the San Diego Maritime Museum. The rain had stopped but it was very chilly down on the water. It was a really interesting opening as there were actually two exhibits; a plein air and an historical one. They were both on the 1898 steam ferryboat Berkeley, with the Arthur Beaumont “Art of the Sea” exhibit in a specially created, climate controlled gallery. A very impressive body of work which we will go back to see, as there were so many people, it was difficult to see and appreciate some of the very large pieces. Both Georgia and I found an artist in the plein air gallery that we liked and will take a closer look when we go back.
Later, we went to an amazing Thai restaurant for Linda’s birthday, but decided that it was a birthday for all of us girls as we are all Pisces! Of course, there was way too much food, so it’s leftovers today!
